NRC Partnerships for Product Stewardship and Waste Reduction

As a broad-based coalition representing all of the many interests involved in promoting and expanding recycling, NRC is partnering with several of the nation’s leading companies to devise creative recycling programs and strategies that reduce waste and promote product stew ardship. Many of these partnerships have direct benefits exclusively for NRC members.

NRC plays a critically important role by encouraging companies that want to increase their visibility as leaders in their industries to sit down with us in an open and trusting environment to discuss their plans and to honestly review the strengths and weaknesses of their potential approaches. While individual companies must ultimately make and take responsibility for their own decisions, NRC believes engaging corporate leaders in forthright dialogues is imperative to recycling's continued growth and success. Our role in promoting product stewardship is not confrontation with manufacturers, but rather consultation and collaboration to produce initiatives that fairly share responsibility for the management of products throughout their life-cycles.
